How to Make Multiple-Choice Tests for English AP Literature and Composition
Typical phrasings used in AP Literature  multiple-choice tests are included.  Headings name the type of questions that need to be asked.  Numbers in parentheses indicate the maximum number of questions that should be asked out of 50 for that particular heading.

Chapter Three:  Multiple-Choice Test-Taking Hints
The multiple-choice section of the English AP exam consists of 50 to 60 questions on five passages which have to be answered in one hour.  Twelve full-length tests are available in this spiral notebook.  These tests could be taken as a whole in a sixty minute period, or separately.  This chapter has some suggestions to help complete the test more successfully.  After reading the suggested strategies, students can take the tests,  applying each of these strategies.  As they continue to take more of the exams in this book, they should adopt those strategies which work.  Plenty of space is provided to add more strategies that work.

This chapter begins with ìThree Close reading Steps for Analyzing Prose Passages.î  Following that detailed help are nine separate prose analysis timed essays.  The prose passages used come from the same authors that were used to create the multiple-choice tests in Chapters four through nine.  Each excerpt is accompanied by a prompt.  Two rubrics are included to guide the reading, writing, and grading of these prose analysis questions.
Chapter Eleven: The EssayóPoetry Analysis
